Welcome! We take your family's privacy seriously. This Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have when you use the KokoFun mobile app (the "App").

3. What Data Is Stored & Where

Important: KokoFun is designed to work offline. All learning data is stored locally on your device and stays there.

We do NOT collect or send to our servers: Voice recordings, camera/photo access, precise location, contact lists, advertising identifiers, browsing history, or any profile/progress data beyond anonymized crash logs.

4. How Data Is Used

Local data (stored on your device) is used to:

  • Provide vocabulary learning activities and track progress
  • Unlock new units based on completion and quiz scores
  • Display progress to parents in the parent-gated section
  • Remember language preferences and learning history

Anonymized diagnostics help us:

  • Identify and fix crashes or technical issues
  • Improve app performance and stability
  • Understand which devices and OS versions need better support

Diagnostic data contains no personal information, child profiles, or learning progress—only technical logs like device type, OS version, and crash reports.

We do NOT: Sell data, share data with advertisers, track your child across apps, use data for marketing, or collect any learning content or progress.

5. Data Security

  • Offline-first design: The app works fully offline. No internet connection required for learning.
  • Local storage: All learning data is stored securely on your device using iOS/Android secure storage APIs.
  • No cloud storage: Your child's profiles, progress, and learning data never leave your device.
  • Encryption in transit: Diagnostic data transmission uses industry-standard TLS 1.3 encryption.
  • Anonymization: Any data sent to us (diagnostics only) is stripped of all personally identifiable information.
  • Parent gate: Settings and data controls are protected to prevent accidental changes by children.

6. How Long We Keep Data

7. Your Rights & Controls

Parents have full control over their child's data:

  • View: See all progress, scores, and profile information in the app
  • Delete: Permanently remove profiles and all associated data from your device
  • Data portability: All data is stored locally on your device—you can back it up using your device's standard backup features (iCloud, Google backup)

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)

KokoFun is designed for children under 13. We:

  • Require parental verification before creating profiles
  • Collect only the minimum data necessary for app functionality
  • Do not show ads or collect data for advertising purposes
  • Provide parents with full visibility and control over data
  • Do not enable social features, chat, or external communications

If we learn that we've collected data from a child without proper parental consent, we will delete it immediately.

9. Third-Party Services

KokoFun uses minimal third-party services:

  • Crash reporting service: For anonymized diagnostic data to help us fix bugs and improve stability

This service only receives technical crash logs with no personal information. We do not use advertising networks, analytics trackers, or social media integrations.

10. International Users

KokoFun is available worldwide. If you're in the EU, you have additional rights under GDPR. Data may be processed in secure data centers globally, but always with appropriate safeguards in place.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or via email. Continued use of KokoFun after changes means you accept the updated policy.
