KokoFun – Terms of Service

Welcome to KokoFun! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the KokoFun mobile application (the "App"). By using KokoFun, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to KokoFun! By downloading, installing, or using our app, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

2. Description of Service

KokoFun is an educational app that helps children ages 2-8 learn vocabulary through audio, visual, and interactive activities. The App includes:

  • Vocabulary learning units with audio and animations
  • Picture-based quizzes designed for pre-readers
  • Progress tracking and unit unlocking system
  • Multi-language support (20+ languages)
  • Offline functionality once content is downloaded

3. Parental Responsibility

As the parent or legal guardian, you are responsible for:

  • Supervising your child's use of the App as you see fit
  • Creating and managing child profiles
  • Setting appropriate screen time limits
  • Ensuring your child uses the App in a safe environment
  • Reviewing and managing your child's learning progress

KokoFun is a language learning app designed for children ages 2-8. The App is provided by:

  • Parents must verify their identity through the parent gate to access settings
  • You may create multiple child profiles under your account

    • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for any activity under it. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at security@kokofun.com.

  • You may delete profiles or your account at any time through Settings

6. Subscription & Payment Terms

Free Content: KokoFun offers free units to try the app.

Premium Content: Access to the full library of units requires a subscription, purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Your subscription to KokoFun is managed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account.

  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your app store account settings
  • Refunds are subject to the app store's refund policy
  • Pricing may vary by region and is displayed in the app before purchase

7. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App
  • Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to bypass parent gates or security features
  • Extract or copy content (audio, images, videos) for use outside the App
  • Share account credentials with others
  • Use KokoFun only as intended and in accordance with these Terms

8. Intellectual Property

We strive to keep KokoFun running smoothly, but we don't guarantee that:

All content in KokoFun—including text, audio, images, animations, and software—is owned by AskOwlo BV or licensed to us. You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, or distribute App content
  • Use Koko characters or branding for commercial purposes
  • Create derivative works based on App content

You retain ownership of any progress data generated through your use of the App.

9. Educational Disclaimer

Koko Fun is designed to support vocabulary learning but is not a substitute for comprehensive education or professional instruction. Results may vary by child. We make no guarantees about specific learning outcomes.

10. Privacy & Data

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your data.

11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Koko Fun is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We do not warrant that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the past 12 months
  • We are not responsible for third-party app store policies or technical issues

12. Updates & Changes

We may:

  • Update the App to add features, fix bugs, or improve performance
  • Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice
  • Change pricing for new subscribers (existing subscriptions remain at original price)

13. Termination

You may stop using Koko Fun at any time by:

  • Deleting the App from your device
  • Canceling your subscription through the app store
  • Requesting account deletion through Settings or via email

We may terminate or suspend access if you violate these Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes through the App or via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
